Mesdames, messieurs,
C’est avec plaisir que j’écris ce premier rapport annuel de la Fondation. Le Conseil d’administration de la Fondation croit qu’il est important d’être transparent dans ses activités pour ses donateurs, les membres du régiment et le public en général. Un rapport annuel financier était envoyé à Revenu Québec et l’Agence de revenu du Canada mais la Fondation ne publiait rien d’autre. Ce rapport représente une étape additionnelle de renouveau et de constante amélioration. |
Ladies, gentlemen,
It is with great pleasure that I write this first annual report on the Foundation. The Foundation Board of Directors believes that it is important to be transparent about its activities to its donors, the members of the regiment and the general public. An annual report is sent annually to Revenu Québec and the Canadian Revenue Agency, but it stopped there. This report demonstrates that the Foundation continues to improve itself. |

Ce rapport couvre en fait une partie de 2023 et 2024. La Fondation alignera ses activités et ses rapports annuels avec ses obligations fiscales, de janvier à décembre. |
This report covers 2024 and a portion of 2023. The Foundation is aligning its annual reporting with the Foundation’s fiscal years, January to December. |

La Fondation a d’abord produit un Plan stratégique de cinq ans que tous peuvent trouver en ligne sur notre site web. À l’interne, afin de guider les activités du Conseil d’administration, nous rédigeons maintenant des plans d’actions annuels. |
The Foundation produced a 5-year plan, available to all to read on our website. Internally, the Foundation develops an annual action plan to guide the Board of Directors’ actions. |

En 2023, aucune nouvelle bourse d’études ne fut octroyée. Les candidatures reçues ne rencontraient pas les critères. Les récipiendaires des années précédentes ont cependant continué de recevoir les fonds selon la méthodologie approuvée. 1 000$ ont été payés. |
In 2023, no bursary was awarded. The submissions received did not satisfy the criteria. Recipients from earlier years received their funds as planned. A total of $1000 was disbursed. |

En 2024, deux nouvelles bourses ont été octroyées. L’annonce a été faite lors des diners de la troupe à Montréal et à Rouyn-Noranda. Les récipiendaires sont soldat Jérémy Gamache (Rouyn-Noranda) et soldat Jonathan Riopel (Montréal). Une courte biographie de chacun est disponible sur notre site web. Au total en 2024, nous avons déboursé 3 500$ aux divers récipiendaires, nouveaux et anciens. |
In 2024, two new bursaries were awarded. Announcements were made at the Troops’ dinners in Montreal and Rouyn-Noranda. The winners were Private Jérémy Gamache (Rouyn-Noranda) and Private Jonathan Riopel (Montreal). A short biography of each can be found on our website. In total, the Foundation paid out $3500 to the new and earlier year recipients. |

Pendant cette période, le Conseil d’administration a perdu deux membres. Nous avons pu recruter un nouveau membre, colonel Pierre Sasseville, et nous continuons de chercher d’autres personnes pour siéger au Conseil. |
During the reporting period, two members stepped down from the Board. A new member was recruited, Colonel Pierre Sasseville. We continue to seek other members to sit on the Board. |

Au printemps 2024, la Fondation, en collaboration avec le 34e RGC, a organisé une rencontre avec les membres de l’unité à la garnison de Longue-Pointe. Le but de cette activité était de donner l’opportunité à nos donateurs de rencontrer les gens qu’ils appuyaient. |
In the Fall of 2024, The Foundation, in collaboration with 34 CER, organized a meeting with unit members at the Longue-Pointe Garrison. The aim of this event was to provide an opportunity for our donors to meet the people they support. |

La Fondation a aussi plusieurs autres intérêts et objectifs en plus d’octroyer des bourses. Nous attendons les conditions propices pour poursuivre ces objectifs. Ces objectifs sont décrits dans notre plan stratégique que vous pouvez consulter sur notre site web. |
The Foundation has other interests and objectives outside of the bursary program. We are waiting for the favorable conditions to pursue them. These objectives can be found in our strategic plan, available on our website. |

Quelques mots sur les finances de la Fondation. En ce qui concerne les dons, la Fondation a reçu, en 2023, 3 810$ de 12 donateurs. Nous avons reçu 3 196$ de 10 donateurs en 2024. Nous avons déboursé 1000$ en 2023 et 3 500$ en 2024 pour les boursiers. Nos frais administratifs et d’opérations étaient de 1 306$ en 2023 et de 1 499$ en 2024. Notre site web, hébergé par Yapla, représente plus de 90% de ces frais. Ainsi, la Fondation a été déficitaire en 2024. Cette situation n’est pas critique pour l’instant parce que nous avons eu peu de dépenses les années précédentes. Néanmoins, la Fondation doit trouver de nouvelles sources de financement pour assurer la pérennité des bourses et avancer dans les autres domaines. |
A few words on our finances. In terms of donations, we received in 2023 $3810 from 12 donors. In 2024, we received $3196 from 10 donors. We paid out bursaries in 2023 to the value of $1000 and $3500 in 2024. Our operations and administrative costs came to $1306 in 2023 and $1499 in 2024. The largest administrative cost to the Foundation is the upkeep of our website on Yapla, representing approximatively 90% of our expenses. As you have already noticed, the Foundation had a deficit in 2024. This is not worrisome for the moment as we had very few expenses in the previous years. Notwithstanding, the Foundation needs to find new sources of funding to ensure the sustainability of the bursary program and to move forward on the other objectives. |

La Fondation continue d’octroyer des bourses aux membres du 34e RGC, son mandat initial et principal. Le Conseil d’administration travaille pour trouver des solutions innovantes pour accroître ses revenus afin d’augmenter, éventuellement, le nombre et le montant des bourses et avancer sur d’autres aspects du mandat de la Fondation. |
The Foundation continues to award bursaries to members of 34 CER, the original and main Foundation objective. The Board of Directors is working to find innovative solutions to increase its funding level in order, in time, to increase the number of bursaries and to raise the amount offered. |
